Q: How do I know the fish will be fresh?
A: We visit the Footscray wholesale fish market every day, were we only purchase enough fish to cover our orders, ensuring no wastage or leftovers.
Q: I have made an order by 5pm the day prior to delivery day and wish to cancel my order.
A: You must call us on 9528 5625 immediately for cancellation otherwise your credit card may be charged the following day.
Q: How should I expect to see my fish packaged?
A: We now vacuum pack all fresh fish fillets. This prolongs the life of the fish.
Q: How will the fish be delivered to me?
A: Your fish will be delivered to your designated address in insulated boxes packed with ice.
Q: What do I do with the fish when I receive it, or take it home?
A: You can remove the fish from the vacuum sealed bags or freezer bags, rinse it under cold water and then either prepare for cooking or place on a dish, cover and refrigerate, or freeze it in your own bag or leave it in the vacuum sealed bag it is up to you.
Q: I don’t know which fish to use, can you offer options?
A: Please refer to our fish selector section which explains in detail which methods of cooking are suitable for different fish. Also refer to the recipe section of our website for some finger-licking recipes!!!!
Q: I’d like you to prepare the fish in a way which is not in your fish preparation styles or I have specific instructions, what do I do?
A: Please notify us via email to info@freshfishonline.com.au, or you can use our Contact Us page if you wish.
Q: Will the credit card payment on my purchase be automatically debited to my card once I have made my order?
A: NO. The payment on your card is processed the next day, once the fish has been cut and weighed. The total price on the website and the price charged may vary by a minimal amount due to size cutting on the day.
Q: If I order a 200g fillet for example, will it be exactly 200g?
A: It is very difficult to cut to exactly 200g, however we are usually very close, as we have been cutting fish for a very long time! (Over 38years!). If you order a 200g fillet and ask for the skin and bones to be removed (for example), please note that some weight will be lost in this process, so the piece of cleaned fish you receive may weigh slightly less than 200g. This process of fish preparation and weighing has always been used by fish shops across Australia, but we understand that it is not always explained clearly to the customer. If you require your end product of clean fish to be a certain weight (such as 200g), please specify this in the comments box of your order process, or by email to info@freshfishonline.com.au.
